Michael Byrne was a beloved member of the UCD community, and his presence on campus for more than 30 years greatly impacted generations of UCD staff, students and local residents. Michael chose to make UCD his home and in doing so, became a wonderful part of the fabric of the Belfield campus. To celebrate Michael’s life and the deep affection held for him by the UCD Community, the inaugural UCD Michael Byrne Mile is being held in his home of UCD. This event will bring people together to remember Michael and raise funds to support the Michael Byrne Community Fund, established by UCD in memory of Michael to foster community building activities in UCD, and to support students who may not be able to afford accommodation.

There will be a number of rolling runs/walks from 11.30 – 1.30pm at the new UCD running track.
