Visit an early medieval house reconstruction and handle replicas of archaeological artefacts. Talk to environmental archaeologists who will explain how they investigate food production practices in the Bronze Age, look at seeds down a microscope, or try grinding grain to flour with a saddle quern. Chat with archaeological scientists who will explain what animal and human bones (replicas only!) from the past can tell us. Ireland’s leading Living History group, Claíomh, will demonstrate medieval and early modern weaponry. Don’t miss this special opportunity to journey to the past with the expert guidance of our UCD academics, students, and collaborators.
You can drop in to this event whenever you’d like, but don’t forget to register for the Discovery Zone if you wish to attend.
