This special pre-Festival event is happening on Friday, 9 June.

In advance of their Delta Blues Project performance with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in UCD’s O’Reilly Hall on 11 June, acclaimed Delta Blues musicians Anthony ‘Big A’ Sherrod and Jacqueline ‘Jaxx’ Nassar invite you to discover the inner workings, wonders and history of the gritty and heartfelt Mississippi Delta Blues style of music. Big A and Jaxx are both graduates of the Arts and Education Programme at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi and are regular performers at Clarksdale’s legendary Ground Zero blues club. Their presentation will include live musical demonstrations and a pre-recorded introduction to the history of the Mississippi Delta Blues by the acclaimed Clarksdale blues historian Roger Stolle.
