ExpiredVertical Farming and Novel Agriculture Techniques

12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Science Concourse

Vertical farming is a novel technique for growing produce, typically indoors under artificial light. This makes local farming and plant cultivation possible year round. In vertical farming, crops are cultivated in vertically stacked layers. Often this is paired with a controlled environment, artificial lighting, and soilless farming like hydroponics. Vertical farming helps to produce crops locally with limited need for farmland, independent of the weather or the season, with a consistently high nutritional value.
